Fan-filmed video footage of MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil performing the title track of his new solo album, "Tattoos & Tequila", on June 23, 2010 at Meadowbrook in Gilford, New Hampshire can be viewed below.
Vince Neil was arrested Sunday night (June 27) in Las Vegas, Nevada on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said Monday..
Neil, 49, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center and faces one count of DUI-Liquor, Las Vegas police spokesman Bill Cassell told CNN. He was arrested at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday.
The singer was also allegedly involved in an incident in front of a Hilton Hotel where a fan said her camera was broken, Cassell said. Police are investigating that incident.
"Tattoos & Tequila" (Eleven Seven Music) is a compilation of genre-defining hits that have been given the Vince Neil rock renewal treatment. Neil's refreshed collection of classics consists of nine hand-picked, influential covers including "No Feelings" (SEX PISTOLS), "Nobody's Fault" (AEROSMITH), "Bitch Is Back" (ELTON JOHN), "Viva Las Vegas" (ELVIS PRESLEY), "He's A Whore" (CHEAP TRICK), "Long Cool Woman" (THE HOLLIES), "Another Piece of Meat" (SCORPIONS), "Who'll Stop the Rain" (CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL), "AC/DC" (THE SWEET) and two new tracks — "Tattoos & Tequila", the hard-rocking first single, and Another Bad Day", which was written by Nikki Sixx and was originally to be included on MÖTLEY CRÜE's 2000 release "New Tattoo".
Chicago hard rockers DISTURBED will release their new album, "Asylum", on August 31 via Reprise Records. The CD will follow up the group's 2008 release, "Indestructible", their fourth million-seller in a row and third No. 1 album.
As with "Indestructible", DISTURBED self-produced "Asylum", which the band began writing in September 2009 and recording in February of this year. Frontman David Draiman describes it as "still identifiably DISTURBED, but showing more maturation. We feel this is one of the strongest bodies of work we've ever put together. It definitely goes in familiar areas, but with new levels of precision and skill."
Lyrically, Draiman says, the themes "range from very personal and introspective, to the political and provocative. What would you expect? No songs about puppy dogs or rainbows here."
"We want this record to be a shining example of how the years have made us stronger," Draiman says. "We want it to be an album that helps people get through their own trials and tribulations, as always."
The first single from "Asylum", "Another Way To Die" deals with some very timely subject matter, as Draiman told The Pulse of Radio. "Obviously it's referring to the global catastrophe that we know as global warming, and the effects that it continues to have on our planet, and our irresponsibility in doing what we do as a species, and our constant appetite, our constant consumption at all costs, you know, no matter what is destroyed, no matter what is laid to waste," he said. "And certainly what's happening in the Gulf now is, you know, horrific."
"Another Way To Die" went on sale at iTunes on June 15.
DISTURBED will hit the road ahead of the album's release, and will be anchoring this summer's new Uproar Tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and STONE SOUR.
RMP conducted an interview with Swedish metallers EVERGREY at this year's Graspop Metal Meeting, which took place June 25-27 in Dessel, Belgium. Watch the chat below.
EVERGREY recently parted ways with Henrik Danhage (guitar), Jonas Ekdahl (drums) and Jari Kainulainen (bass) and replaced them with Marcus Jidell (ex-ROYAL HUNT), Hannes Van Dahl and Johan Niemann (ex-THERION, MIND'S EYE), respectively.
In an official statement posted at the band's web site, guitarist/vocalist Tom S. Englund explained the decision, saying "The last tours, recordings and just hanging with each other has not been as fun and giving as earlier AND before it would go too far, resulting in a collision in between friends, which could ruin everything we have built up during the years, we decided to call it quits.
"It's sometimes both smart and foreseeing to end situations before they get out of hand and create something that is totally unnecessary and irreparable. To be in a band must be experienced as fun, giving and fulfilling. There is SO much time during a life as a touring musician that is boring that if you don't even enjoy yourself while playing then it's better to do something else."
EVERGREY's new lineup:
* Tom S. Englund - Guitar/Vocals
* Rikard Zander - Keyboards
* Marcus Jidell (ex-ROYAL HUNT) - Guitar
* Johan Niemann (ex-THERION, MIND'S EYE) - Bass
* Hannes Van Dahl - Drums
EVERGREY has a full album written and partially recorded. A tentative October release is expected.
The band added, "As with ANY change, when you give it time you realize that it's turned out for the better. So far in this EVER-LASTING changing of members in EVERGREY, it's always turned out great and brought fresh blood and motivation into the band, and the level of wanting to prove ourselves as a band is higher than EVER before."
